Terms of use

These terms govern the use of Ydeora, for all accounts, free and Pro.

A service that keeps evolving

Ydeora keeps evolving: features are added, improved or removed from one version to the next. We do everything we can to protect your work (automatic local and remote saving) and keep the service available, but uninterrupted availability cannot be guaranteed.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for actions taken from your account. Let us know quickly if you suspect unauthorized access.

Acceptable use

Ydeora is a personal writing tool. Please don't use it to store or distribute illegal content, or to try to disrupt the service.

Ownership of your content

What you write in Ydeora belongs to you. We don't access it, except for technical necessity (support) or legal obligation.

Pro for life plan

The following terms apply to anyone who buys or benefits from the Pro for life plan. They prevail over any marketing presentation of the plan.

Nature of the plan. Pro for life is a personal license to use Ydeora's Pro features, obtained through a single payment. It is neither a subscription nor any ownership right in the service, its code or its future versions.
Included features. The license gives access to the Pro features available in the version of Ydeora in force on the date of purchase, as presented on the Pricing page on that date.
New features. Features added after the purchase are not automatically included. Ydeora freely decides whether to add them to the Pro for life plan, in whole or in part, to reserve them for other plans, or to make them subject to limits or separate pricing.
Artificial intelligence and usage-based services. Pro for life includes no artificial intelligence credits, no transcription minutes and no other processing whose cost depends on usage or on a third-party provider. When offered, these services may be subject to quotas, limits or separate pricing, including for Pro for life accounts.
Fair use. An unlimited feature means normal, personal use of the service. Ydeora may limit, suspend or end any automated or abusive use, any use intended for resale, or any use that threatens the stability of the service for other users.
Duration. "For life" means for as long as Ydeora is operated by its publisher, not the lifetime of the buyer. Pro access stays attached to the account while the account is active and the service is operated. If the service is permanently discontinued, holders are notified within a reasonable time so they can retrieve their documents; discontinuation gives no right to a refund, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
Changes to the service. Ydeora may change, replace or remove a feature for technical, security, legal or provider-related reasons, while endeavouring to keep an equivalent service for Pro for life accounts.
Personal license. The license is attached to a single Ydeora account. It is personal and may not be assigned, resold, shared or moved to another account.
Payment, withdrawal and refunds. The price is the one shown at the time of purchase. Since Pro access is provided as soon as payment is confirmed, the buyer requests immediate performance of the service and, to the extent permitted by applicable law, waives their right of withdrawal. Except for a billing error or where mandatory law provides otherwise, the purchase is not refundable once Pro access is active.
Removal of access. In case of refund, payment chargeback, fraud or serious breach of these terms, Pro access may be removed without compensation. The account's documents remain available within the limits of the free plan.

Plus plan

The following terms apply to anyone who pays for or benefits from the Plus plan. They prevail over any commercial presentation of the plan.

Nature of the plan. Plus is access to Ydeora's Plus features for a one-month period, obtained by payment. Each confirmed payment adds one month of access, starting from the end of the current period, or from the payment date if access has already ended.
Renewal. Plus access is never renewed automatically: nothing is charged without a new payment made by the user themselves. Ydeora may send an email reminder before and at the end of the period; the absence of a reminder, whatever the cause, never leads to a charge or an extension.
End of period. At the end of the period, without a new payment, the account returns to the free plan. No document is deleted: documents remain readable and editable, and creating new documents is blocked while their number exceeds the free plan limit.
Included features. Each period gives access to the Plus features shown on the Pricing page on the payment date. Ydeora may change the content of the Plus plan for future periods; a period already paid is never reduced.
Artificial intelligence and usage-based services. Plus only includes the services listed on the Pricing page on the payment date. Processing whose cost depends on usage or on a third-party provider (artificial intelligence, transcription) may be subject to quotas, limits or separate pricing.
Price. The price is the one shown at the time of payment. Ydeora may change the price of future periods by showing it on the Pricing page; a price change never applies to a period already paid.
Withdrawal and refunds. Since Plus access is provided as soon as payment is confirmed, the buyer requests immediate performance of the service and, to the extent permitted by applicable law, waives the right of withdrawal for the current period. A period that has started is not refunded, except for a billing error or a mandatory legal provision to the contrary.
Reasonable use and personal license. Plus access is tied to a single Ydeora account; it is personal and cannot be assigned, resold or shared. Ydeora may limit, suspend or stop any automated or abusive use, or any use that compromises the stability of the service.
Removal of access. In case of refund, chargeback, fraud or serious breach of these terms, Plus access may be removed without compensation. The account's documents remain available within the limits of the free plan.
